The Figarella Foundation (figarellafoundation.org) — Last updated: September 20, 2026
This page explains what personal data this site collects, what it is used for, and what you can do about it. We wrote it in plain language: if anything is unclear, write to us.
1. Who runs this site
This site is run by Horacio Figarella. For any privacy matter write to [email protected].
2. What we collect and why
- Visits. We count visits with a system installed on our own server (WP Statistics). It records the page you visit, the date, your approximate country (reported by Cloudflare), your browser and operating system, and your IP address. We do not store your full browser identification string. We use this to know how many people read each page, which is why every page shows a line at the bottom with the total visits, unique visitors and main countries. It is aggregate data only and never shows information about a specific person. Known automated programs and our own visits are not counted.
- Third-party statistics and analytics. We also use Jetpack Stats (Automattic) and Google Analytics (Google, through Site Kit), which receive technical data about your visit, such as the page, your browser and your IP address, to measure how the site is used.
- Forms. If you write to us through a form (WPForms), we keep what you type (for example your name, email and message) to reply to you, and for nothing else.
- Comments. If you comment, we keep your name, email, website (if you give one), IP address and comment. Your email is not shown. Akismet (Automattic) checks comments to filter spam.
- Accounts. If you register, we keep your name, email and password (the password is stored encrypted). New accounts are approved by a person.
- Newsletter. If you subscribe (MailPoet), we keep your email to send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe with the link in every message.
- Events and bookings. If you sign up for an event, we keep the details you give in the registration.
- Security. Wordfence protects the site and logs login attempts, blocks and suspicious activity, including IP addresses.
3. Bot check: Cloudflare Turnstile
To protect login, comments and forms from automated abuse, this site uses Cloudflare Turnstile. It works without showing you a challenge: Turnstile may collect technical data from your browser and connection to tell people from automated programs.
That data is handled under the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum: https://www.cloudflare.com/turnstile-privacy-policy/
4. Cloudflare
The site is delivered through Cloudflare, an intermediary service that speeds up and protects connections. Cloudflare therefore sees the connections that reach the site, including your IP address.
5. Cookies
We use cookies (small data files your browser stores) to make the site work and to measure its use. You can see and change your preferences from the site’s cookie notice.
6. Who we share data with
We do not sell your data or hand it over for advertising. Only the providers that make the site possible receive it: the hosting provider, Cloudflare, Automattic (Jetpack and Akismet), Google (analytics) and the email delivery service. Each handles it under its own terms.
7. How long we keep it
- Visit statistics: no fixed period while the site is active, to keep each page’s history.
- Comments, form messages and accounts: as long as needed for the purpose they were collected for, or until you ask us to delete them.
- Security logs: for the limited time Wordfence keeps them.
8. Your rights
You can ask us to show, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to its use. Write to [email protected] and we will reply. If we cannot delete something (for example a recent security log), we will explain why.
9. Children
This site is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child sent us data, tell us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change something important, we will update this page and the date at the top.
To tell people from automated programs in the visit statistics we use IP-to-network data by DB-IP.com (CC BY 4.0 license).
